Limerick Open 2013
The Limerick Open 2013 was held on the Halloween holiday weekend (26–28 October) at the South Court Hotel, Limerick. It was a six-round event, with 79 entries in the Philip Hogarty Open (37 players, including a GM) and the Under 1400 section (42 players).
Philip Hogarty Open
The winner, FM Colm Daly, won outright first place, scoring 5.5/6. He won his final game against Orison Carlile in round 6 to clinch first prize and the perpetual trophy. GM Petr Neumann (Czech Republic) was second on 5/6, and IM Dragos Dumitrache (Romania) and FM David Fitzsimons were joint third on 4.5/6.
- Grading prizes: Pete Morriss 4/6, Piotr Leichert 4/6, Brian Farragher 3/6, Phillip Foenander 3/6 and Kevin Fitzpatrick 3/6
- David and Goliath prize: Pat Twomey, for his win against IM Dragos Dumitrache in round 1
Under 1400 section
There were three joint first prize winners on 5/6: Jeffrey Alfred, Carlos Silva and Eric James Salsac.
